Texas has among the most deadly roads in the nation. I 45 in Harris County, Texas was rated as one of the most deadly highways in America, according to FoxNews.com. In the article, officials were quoted as saying that the amount of traffic on the road creates the problem. Dallas also has some very dangerous roads, including I 35, which gets a tremendous amount of traffic.
The Allstate insurance Corporation recently revealed a different type of study: the 15 deadliest highways for teenagers in Texas. Their data came from the Texas Department of transportation and was compiled between the years 2006 and 2010. Again, I 45 in Harris County ranked as the highest in terms of motor vehicle crashes. I 10 has two particularly dangerous areas on it, Bexar County and Harris County.
Dallas, unfortunately, had a road show up on the list of those that are most dangerous to teenagers. I 635 in Dallas County was listed as among the most deadly stretches of road for teenagers and, for that matter, other drivers, as well. Some stretches of road, whether it is because of particularly dense traffic, because drivers tend to speed on that stretch of road or for some other reason, are deadlier than others.
No matter how dangerous the road you’re traveling on happens to be, you and the other drivers around you share an obligation to act reasonably and to try to keep each other safe on the road. This includes following any traffic laws that apply and paying attention to where you’re going and to the drivers around you. Unfortunately, many drivers do not uphold this basic obligation to their fellow drivers and, when they do not, those other drivers sometimes end up getting seriously injured or even killed.
If you’ve been in an accident that was the result of another driver’s negligence, whether it was on one of the deadliest roads in Texas or the avenue outside your home, be sure to contact an attorney. In some instances, the attorney may be able to help you file a lawsuit against the individual who harmed you and, if it is successful, you could stand to win substantial compensation for the pain and suffering you been put through, as well as any expenses you endured due to medical costs or other hardships. Contact an attorney to discuss your options for filing a lawsuit.
